I was strolling through tumblr about to post a new boombox song when I came across a post about Rainbow Eucalyptus - it is amazing! Mind-blowing to see so many beautiful naturally occurring colors in a tree!
It looks like the graffiti art of nature!
You can read more about Rainbow Eucalyptus on wikipedia and see more beautiful images on Google.
We had a great time at the Hester Street Fair for the Zero Waste Weekend - thanks to all who came out! It was great to see so many great companies and young entrepreneurs promoting their new businesses! Especially so many green focused companies!
We were excited to be sitting next to the lovely folks at Sustainable NYC and the beautifully designed DBA biodegradable pens (more to come about them soon!).
The smoothie samples from XOOM juices were amazing!
Holstee fan Kyle Baker was rocking his Upcycled T-shirt at the recent Sasquatch concert at the Gorge!
Here is what he had to say: "You wouldn't believe (or maybe you would) how many comments I got on the shirt. Tons of people in the food/latrine lines and a lot of people in the campground too wanted to know what was up with it and where it was from."
Read Kyle's full review of the concert plus more photos here on his blog.
Check out this photo with one of our favorite groups, Vampire Weekend, on stage in the background!
Just the other day Barrie and I got to meet Jenni Avins the founder of Closettour. Closettour is all about "The WONDER in wondering what to wear". It talks about the ways people value clothing from every perspective. In short, Closettour is to Clothes, as Omnivores Dilemma is to Food. An exploration of into fashion from someone who has experienced fashion on many levels as a student, as a connoisseur, and even on the production side of sustainable fashion line Edun.
Be sure to follow along with Closettour for some great insight and fun videos!

A long time friend, Kira Neel, recently recommended the blog, Straw vs Gold to me. Founded by, Chloe Leichman, Staw vs Gold serves as a nice cultural round up, with a bias towards NYC.
On sites like this I always love learning about the folks behind the project and why they created it, and this one sit up there with the best :-) Check it out here, it's also copied below:
Straw vs Gold is where the cool kids hang out. Not those mean girls from high school, or the douchey people you used to work with. These are the ones you trust unconditionally for advice on style, music, art, and events. The ones who you know will be the first to tell you about an obscure yet amazing Brooklyn band or a talented up-and-coming South African painter. The ones who are friends with the dopest people at the party, but will gladly introduce you. Straw vs Gold is a cultural location with no pretention or snobbery, a clubhouse for creative innovation in all its forms.
A quick follow up to Dave's post yesterday.. when it comes to the World Cup, the Dutch don't stop at Tee's. A friend staying in the Netherlands just sent us these photos of her street, where her neighbors bring new meaning to bringing pride and passion to the streets. Regardless of goals, they should win something for that!
ps- the only thing that would've made this better... if they used the amazing biodegradable plastic from the good folks at poop bags :-)
I hope everyone is enjoying the World Cup! I know I was psyched to see the US tie it up up with England and was gladly surprised with Germans win over Australia.
Wins and losses aside, I need to note the design of this Dutch fan's t-shirt! I love the functional design, absolute genius!
When you pull the shirt over your head it perfectly exposes the hidden face design on the inside of the shirt. I want one!
